Hey Team. The issue of school Uniform is one you all can relate too, as Beaumonde Heights was once a uniform school but still has a regulated dress code. Our novel study this summer is Branded by Eric Walters, you've also read the story on uniform policy, and with your own personal experience reflect on these when answering the questions below about school uniform.
Make a separate post for each question you answer
Write well structure and thoughtful responses, use evidence, quote significant people, use powerful vocabulary
Respond with 2 other students to formulate some dialogue and back and forth conversation
1. What do you think are the 3 most important benefits of wearing uniform. List them in order and justify each pick.
2. If Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school this September what would you do ?

ReplyDelete1. The three main benefits of school uniforms are better performance in students, better relationships between teachers and students, and less peer pressure.
ReplyDeleteSchool uniforms help increase performance in students. Uniform shows unity and that helps in working as a team. Working as team helps efficiency and students work harder as they feel that they belong in the school.
When students wear uniform the staff (teachers) feel appreciated and respected. This improves relationships with students.
Today, everyone wants to wear the latest and best clothes and people are mostly influenced by friends, but wearing school uniform reduces that since everyone wears the same clothing.
Add more detail:)
Deleteits not a drawing yash
DeleteSo, if you add detail it would make your response stronger
DeleteI like your points and I think you did good with your opinion but maybe you should explain just a little bit more for your second point. =D (no hate)
DeleteTry to explain more. Your response needs more explanation. (No offence)
Delete1.
ReplyDelete- The most important benefit of wearing uniforms is that it helps improve the safety of students. If all students in the school are wearing uniform then staff and other administrators would be able to identify that they are part if the school. So if for example, a stranger or intruder that puts students safety at risks enters the school, staff will easily be able to identify them. This is the most important benefit of uniforms because the safety of students is most important to staff because they are the school's responsibility.
- The second most important benefit is that it destroys economic and social barriers between students. If there are uniforms then it would be quite difficult to tell whether a person is poor or rich as everyone is wearing the same clothes. Also it would be difficult to tell someone's personality because people clothes reflect their personality and if everyone is wearing the same clothes then you can't tell. This is the second most important benefit because it could help prevent discrimination and bullying.
- The third most important benefit is that it improves attendance and discipline. When students have to wear uniform the they have to be more organized and responsible as they could only wear those clothes, so they will have to take care of them. This is the third most important reason because it could help change a student into a better person.
Amazing!!! Nice information, You have great facts and examples.
DeleteNice answer.
DeleteIt sort of feels as if the second point was somewhat not a benefit... and for the third point what if the person does not like the uniform and does not care for it? Other than that I think its all good.
Deleteit's a great answer! However, in point #2, it does not "destroy" The economic and social barriers between students. For example, let's look at my grade 7 class 7B. This year, we may have had a dress code, but we can still identify who is popular and who is not. So, maybe it does not DESTROY the economic and social barrier but, it may cut it down slightly.
Delete1) Here are my 3 benefits of school uniforms:
ReplyDelete- No one gets bullied because they are wearing ugly clothes because they all wear the same thing.
- Students don't need to stand in front of their wardrobe for a hour just trying to figure out what they are going to wear for school that day.
- Teachers can tell students apart from intruders because intruders don't wear uniforms.
2. If Beamonde Heights became a uniform school I wouldn't really care, besides encouraging people to wear uniforms since it helps create unity and increases performance. If the school creates unity then we will have less bullying and better performance means our school will be known as a good one.
ReplyDelete1. Uniforms are something Beaumonde as a school are semi comfortable with; we have a dress code but not an actual solid uniform. On the topic of uniforms, what good do uniforms come out of? Let's see! I have came up with 4 posts which I assume are true. I believe that the top 3 points (in order) are: 1, it could easily help the staff and students determine who is a predator or a danger to the school as they don't blend into the crowd, 2, it could help students with self esteem because everyone is wearing the exact same thing which could lead to more self love, and 3, it saves time in the morning.
ReplyDeleteHow the first point is relevant is because we never know what's going to happen, we in no way are able to tell the future thus, if a person that is a danger to your child's life, they should be easily identifiable. When all the students at a certain school are wearing the same articles of clothing, the staff can efficiently determine what someone could be. There wouldn't be any misjudgements or complications if there perhaps is someone dangerous.
In a way the second point plays out is when all the student are wearing the same clothing it may give that sense of comfortability! There will be thoughts about how everyone looks the same which would lead to points and ideas such as, students wouldn't be judged by school staff or students on how they've presented themselves with the type and style of clothing. This element is eliminated once uniforms have been established. The thought of this could be a little more calming to those who struggle with self image and self portraying.
The third point I make is that students will save time in the morning because they do not need to spend time picking and choosing what they wear each morning. Uniforms already determine what the student will wear which saves quite a lot of time. You don't need to check if your pants fit properly or if your blazer is goes well with your tie, it's been pre-determined.
good!!! nice facts and examples great information
DeleteGood vocabulary and great opinion:)

Delete1. What do you think are the 3 most important benefits of wearing uniform. List them in order and justify each pick.
ReplyDelete2. If Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school this September what would you do ?
3. What is absolutely the worst thing about wearing school uniforms? Be specific and find sources to support your position
1- 3 important benefits of wearing uniform is safety, bullying and better performance.
One benefit is safety. Due to the fact that everyone is wearing same clothes and looking the same it would prevent intruders so everyone would know who is who and who to trust since most of the times there are separate groups of friends so they do not know who else there is in the school.
The second benefit is to prevent bullying. When a kid is getting bullied they can easily stand up since if they are being made fun of how they look they can stand up for them selves since everyone else looks the same.
Finally it helps with better performance. You are probably going to wake up really early and be insanely tired just to find a perfect set of clothes to wear. If you have uniform then you do not really have to wake up too early just to get some clothes to wear.
2- If beaumonde heights jms was a uniform school then I would be going nuts. I hate for the fact that I have to wear white shirts and black pants and if it was a uniform school I would hate it MORE! Since adding on to the white shirt and black pants it would have me to also not only do that but I would have to dress in a certain way and do my hair differently. The first thing that I would do is run down straight to the office and complain.
3- The one thing that is absolutely worse about wearing uniform is the fact that you have to dress the same way as everyone. Not that you have to wear the same clothes but you have to make your hair like them and basically be identical. People do not have to be exactly the same so they have to be able to wear their own clothes and to express themselves. Some schools have a dress code which is fine but looking exactly the same is way too different. So that is the worst thing about wearing uniform. Looking the same.
why would u complain? If there are uniforms then the staff would agree to it too, so there is no point of complaining.
DeleteFirst of all, I would say that your responses had alot of your own opinion, which is definitely a great thing, but you could've explained your answers in more depth, since some of the answers don't make sense with the limited details you've mentioned. Such as the first benefit- you said that there can be separate groups of friends so they don't know who else is there in the school. What do you mean by "separate groups of friends"- does it connect with the fact of wearing uniform? And who do you mean by "they"? Another example of this would be the third benefit. You said that uniform helps with better performance, and how are you supposed to "perform better" by waking up early and having to get a perfect set of clothes to wear? You could've explained these points in greater depth/detail.
DeleteAnd, for number 2, when you said you would go to the office and complain, what do you think the office will tell you? You should have also explained that point as well.
Otherwise, I think this article was great considered from an opinion perspective. And you also used alot of high-end words, such as "insanely" and 'identical'.
In number 1 you said wearing uniform can help you with a stand but in question 3 you said you can show your personality without uniform. What if their are many people that cant afford the type of clothes people like to see?
DeleteWell you can also express your personality on how you act.
Delete1.The best part of wearing uniform is:
ReplyDeletea) You can be equal. Being equal can help not other know how are we in choosing clothes for ourselves. When we wear uniform all our fellow friends are going to wear the same colour. On the website I had seen a video that was talking about how school uniform is good or bad. In the good part it was showing how uniform can make you equal, This has happened in real life too. In our school everybody is wearing the dress code and that can help in not competing with each other on how do we look. The look does not make a difference because since we are all together the way how we look in a uniform doesn't matter anymore.
b) when you know you are equal this can lead us to a point that is representative. When we wear uniform people can identify you for which school do you go to. This can help us on that people can know we come from a good school. When they see other students in our school this can tell us which do we represent in a way, for example if you are wearing the uniform appropriate they can tell that we are good kids who wants to learn and have no concerns being in this school. When I wear my uniform other people recognize and it helps me know that I belong here.
c) when we have no concern in wearing uniform we can save time for choosing clothing. Before everybody would have to go in their closet and see what would they wear for school tomorrow this can help us in wasting time. The other way you might choose your clothes is in the night which makes you sleep late. If you would do it in the morning you have to wake up early and that can make you more sleepy and inactive during school. Since you wear uniforms that can help you save time and help you be ready for school.
How can we be equal? There will still be popular kids and kids that barley have anyone. there is still a social division these 2 categories. So how can we still be equal?
Deletei agree 100%
DeleteWith whom Harshil?
Deleteyou, your opinion
DeleteOh, ok! XD
DeleteSame here
DeleteYou can be equal because like in branded it says that uniform is a good thing because if you are rich you would wear fancy clothes where and the other people like the poor people would wear their type of clothes while wearing those clothes they would try to catch up on how you wear. Why not instead wear the same uniform code and show that you still can do something. This can help some people be proud and be equal in clothing.
DeleteUrwa, your article is very nice, since you explained your points and all, but I felt that How do they become "equal"? You could've been more specific as to that point- you could have said that they become more equal as in a social way. Good examples, though
DeleteBut there are still the social boundaries Urwa. Even in our school there are still students who are clearly popular. You can't just say that cloths make people unequal, it's also the personality. Take Sarah in my gr.7 class as an example. we had a dress-code, but she seemed to shine out of everyone. She still seemed really popular.
Delete3. The worst thing about school uniforms is that it's so boring, like just look at them they are so ugly and stupid. This is the students opinion. Look at the School uniform, it's so formal and neat. This is the teachers uniform. This debate can go on for years, but the worst thing about the school uniform is how it affects the students.
ReplyDeleteWhen you wear a uniform you feel stupid and you feel that you have no freedom. The students also lose their creativity and how they express themselves.
If Beaumonde brought back uniforms would you say that uniforms would make YOU feel stupid?
Deletelanguage harshil
Deleteyes it would!!
DeleteI agree with this because you are forced to wear the same clothing and it would sometimes make you feel dumb since you cant really express your self in other ways.
Deletei am stupid without the uniform
DeleteIn my opinion uniforms don't have any form of diversity. Students are forced to stay the same, and it will create a less enjoyable environment.
Deletei agree with krishotha, cause take us we are students and uniforms aren't that fun toc wear our school has a dress code we are fine with that but NOBODY likes to wear the same thing everyday (aka uniform). It just takes the fun out of school.
Delete1. The 3 benefits of uniform
ReplyDeleteThere are many benefits of uniform. The first benefit is that uniforms equalize the students economic and social backgrounds, because of the fact that students nowadays are getting more and more concerned about the brand names of their clothes, and the price. Uniforms take away that factor because the uniforms are all the same- the same brand, the same price; and, everyone will look the same in uniform. Kids whose families come from a lower economic status may not have the privilege to buy expensive clothes or shop for famous brands everyone else are wearing nowadays, So, the students don't have to be worried about what kind of clothes they wear and the idea of equality in self consciousness among the students is feasible. The second benefit is that students would have a sense of discipline and responsibility to themselves, since uniforms have a strict policy which the students will have to follow, and it will cause students to be more mature, responsible and disciplined. The third benefit of uniforms is that uniforms reduce socially criticizing others, which includes self consciousness of the students regarding what kind of clothes they wear, bullying regarding on what kind of clothes you wear, and verbal remarking each other based on clothing. Uniforms take away all these complications and leaves everyone wearing the same kind of clothes. Because of uniform, the attendance rate shot up, mainly because of the fact that students weren't scared of going to school and being bullied or criticized.
2. If Beaumonde heights became a uniform school, I would accept that the school had its reasons to switch to uniforms as a dress code and wear it. The school probably did it to promote equality among the students or for security reasons, or some other important reason. It doesn't really matter for me, to wear uniform, because uniforms has it's own pros and cons. I know that uniforms take away my sense and others' sense of diversity, but uniforms also create equality between the students, so we wouldn't be judged on what clothes we each wear. So, in a way, uniforms is also good AND bad, but there will be weekends and after school where I can wear whatever I want. To be continued
The absolute worst thing about school uniform is that it limits the ability of the students' freedom, individuality, and expressing themselves. Personally, I like to express myself with my clothes, and I'm sure many students do too. School Uniform takes away that sense of expressing yourselves because everyone wears the same clothing. For example in "Branded", the students had to wear a blazer, a white shirt, black pants, and an optional green sweater. A lot of us express ourselves with the factors of what colours we wear, what type of clothes we wear etc. With uniform, that is simply impossible!
ReplyDeleteGood job using the examples from the book "Branded" and I also like your opinion.
Deletethanks
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIn Beaumonde, you can see that nobody necessarily follows the dress code. In the school year you could see all the students who weren't wearing a crisp white shirt or ironed black pants. It's only a handful of students who do. Wouldn't you say that the dress code just gets stricter and doesn't have any loop holes?

ReplyDelete1.I think the three most important benefits of wearing uniforms are:
ReplyDelete1- If we wear uniforms we will all look the same which is a good thing because that way we have a chance to know our pears better than we do and we won’t be able to judge them by their looks.
2- If we look the same and make fun of others then we are also making fun of ourselves because wearing uniforms gives us an opportunity to be the same even if we don’t want to.
3- Wearing uniforms no one will not have fashion problems to see who has better clothes and who doesn’t. Uniforms are making everyone look the same because uniform are the same.
The benefits of wearing uniforms might not be a lot but it does help students because there will be less fights and the teachers by not having to deal with all the fights.
You should go deeper in your answers by adding facts and examples
DeleteTry adding more information. I can easily counter-dict.
DeleteI think that you should add more information so the reader understands the perspective you are trying to show them. More facts, personal opinions and explanations for your answers would have really emphasized your main points. :)
DeleteMaybe you should explain more. Great answers though!
Delete2) If Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school in September, then I would fight against it and try to bring the no uniform policy back. I believe that no school should have uniform because they are boring and they try to make a vibe that everyone is the same when we all know that every person in the world is different. To fight against this I would gather as many students as I can to protest against this and even I might try making some petitions. Adults and school administrators might say that uniforms improve safety and discipline, which is correct, but they do not see that it reduces the chance for students to express themselves, so if Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school in September, I would fight against.

DeleteYash - " I believe that no school should have uniform ". There are some more benefits to wearing uniform so having NO school wear uniform is just wrong. Also what if the students would not protest and actually like the uniform? Add a bit more facts and maybe have a bit more grammar. Another thing is explain some more please. Other than that I think that you did a good job.

Delete2. If Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school this September what would you do ?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure West Humber already has uniform, but if they were to come out with it for the first time when I start in September, I'd roll with it! I don't see an issue with uniforms, it saves me time and it'll benefit me! Uniforms are definitely something I would appreciate mainly because it gives me more advantages than disadvantages. The wise words that my mom once spoke were "Clothes shouldn't be your main focus, your education should be, because at the end of the day, the education will get you somewhere, your clothes won't." These words of wisdom are what i kept with me while i was applying to the high school of my choice in February; it's something i consider is important to keep in mind.

ReplyDelete1. What do you think are the 3 most important benefits of wearing uniform. List them in order and justify each pick.
ReplyDeleteI think one of the benefits is that students don't need to wake up every morning thinking about what they want to wear, they also don't have to choose their clothing and waste time and maybe end up late to school
Another advantage would be if a student went missing from a uniform school the school could identify what the student was wearing. If they were wearing non-uniform clothing peers and teachers may have forgot what they were wearing and it would be difficult to identify them.
The last benefit which I think is important is that students won't have to compete with each other about whose wearing the more expensive article of clothing instead they all will look the same. Also students who come from a rich family may make fun of students who cannot afford clothing like them.

Great work but you could explain more. =D
Delete2. If Beaumonde Heights JMS became a uniformed school this September I wouldn’t do anything because uniforms are good and we will have an opportunity to all try and be the same even though we are not. Uniforms might not help us with our grades but they will help us in a way to improve ourselves. If we did have uniforms they would cost a lot less than the clothes we wear to school and uniforms won’t let us see the rich and poor people differently we will all be the same. This way we also won’t be able to judge others by their clothes because we are all wearing the same clothes. So if we could all look the same and act the same then we will be the same and if we are all the same then we won’t have any fights.
ReplyDeleteSome people hate it when people are exactly the same as yourself. You could also add more facts since you were mostly talking about looking the same. Great work and effort! =)
Delete1) When we wear uniforms it gives us many benefits. It prevents bullying and low self-esteem, makes us communicate with our peers more often/makes us more socializing and it also makes kids come to school on time.
ReplyDeleteUniforms prevent bullying by making everyone look the same. When everyone looks the same, it makes the “rich” people who wear trendy clothes, stop bullying the people who don’t wear popular clothing. This makes those kids keep their self-esteem high.
Uniforms make us communicate with our peers more often by letting ourselves feel equal and it makes some people have confidence to talk with people who they know they wouldn’t talk with if their school had no uniforms.
Uniforms make kids come to school on time. This is because when schools have no uniforms, they spend most of their time deciding what to wear at school. This makes them reach school late and have less discipline. On the other hand, when kids have uniforms they don’t have to worry about what they have to wear at school.
For your first point, bullying can still happen even if it is a uniform school. Other than that I liked your opinion and facts. Great work!
Deletei did not like this since it did not have many examples or facts but still its good
DeleteLike Aaron said, bullying can happen even with a uniform school, but you could've been specific about what kind of bullying can be lessened with school uniform, such as verbal bullying, cyber bullying etc; and you also could have been specific about WHY the bullying could be lessened with school uniform. Otherwise, I think that your level of opinion on these benefits was excellent, and grammar and punctuation mistakes were none. But, you could've added some facts or connections though. :)
DeleteGreat points! But bullying can still be possible as people can make fun of how ugly you look in the uniform.
Delete3. What is absolutely the worst thing about wearing school uniforms? Be specific and find sources to support your position
ReplyDeleteRegarding uniforms, i distinctively consider that there is nothing wrong about uniforms. They aren't degrading or demeaning, they're blissful in a sense. Yes i understand it doesn't allow students to express themselves; some student will literally wear the same thing day after day, but yet claim they're expressing how they feel in it. All in all, there's nothing negative about school uniforms.
You should have answered the question instead of going against the question. Great work though.
DeleteEven though you didn't answer the question as you didn't specify the worst thing about uniforms, you still proved your point as to why school uniforms does not have any worst things about it, and that makes your article excellent. You also used lots of good vocabulary such as "demeaning" "distinctively", "blissful" etc. But, you could have explained your answer as to why uniforms are "blissful" and why there is nothing negative about them so the reader can understand your perspective. Great work and effort though. :)
DeletePersonally, I have no negative comments about uniforms, I can comprehend that I didn't answer the question, II know I didn't because I don't have anything against uniforms, I don't find any flaws in the thought of the uniforms.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete2. If Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school this September what would you do?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't really mind uniform because its easier to get ready in the morning and I don't have to worry about what I'm wearing for the next day. Also students won't be made fun for what their wearing since everybody is wearing the same clothes.Students won't get to express themselves and I understand that but that is what dress down days and weekends are for.You can express yourself all you want on your own time.
I like your opinion the most about this but you should also add more detail [like explain more not like a drawing]. Good job having a lot of facts though!
DeleteYour opinion is good, but I think people can still be made fun of even if they are wearing the same thing as people might make fun of how ugly or nerdy someone looks in the uniform.
DeleteBut the person can fight back saying were wearing the same clothing. We all look alike.
Delete2) If there was a uniform policy when I came back to school in September, I would either go on strike or be lazy and do nothing at all. If I did go on a strike it would have been to fight for my rights to wear whatever I want. If I chose to do nothing at all it would be because I don't want to get into any trouble.
ReplyDeleteExplain a lot more.
DeleteAs the reader, I couldn't understand the points you are trying to prove, so you could've explained your points by using examples, facts, and more of your own opinions.
Delete1. a) uniforms can save you time in the morning when you cant decide on what to wear.
ReplyDeleteb) when someone wears uniform you can easily guess that that person is part of something so its easy to spot intruders.
c)our clothes can cost a lot of money and some people cant afford to buy so many clothes so uniforms are a good benefit for people who cant afford as many clothes as we can.
Anyone can easily go against your topics so you should at least explain a lot more.
DeleteAdd some detail Krupali because I can easily counter-dict your points.
Delete1: The top 3 reasons that uniforms seem alright is the following. #1 It improves attendance #2 It helps students behave and #3 it identifies intruders in the school. 1) The reason why that uniforms improve attendance in school is because, student girls and sometimes student boys really care about what they look. Henceforth they spend a lot of time deciding what to wear. However, if there is uniform, students are forced to wear very specific cloths that the school has decided. so, then they would not need so much time to decide on what kind of clothing they should wear. 2) Uniforms help students behave because, students at an older age wear inappropriate clothing that is not acceptable for the school. On top of that students may wear those cloths inappropriately. So uniforms help stop this by the dress code that is locked. 3) There are sometimes lock-downs in schools. In order to identify the intruder, it would be best if we HAD uniforms OR dress-codes. This way, the authorities can identify the intruder much quicker and no one would be accused of a killer and many more. So my third point in why uniforms are important is that it helps everyone find the schools intruder.
ReplyDeleteA few spelling mistakes. For your first point though what if the person is just too lazy to get up from bed? For your second point why would you wear inappropriate clothing at a young age? For your third point why would you need to wear uniform during a lock down? We all know that the stranger is NOT a KID and is an adult with a weapon. So you could easily identify who is the stranger. If you try to complain about us knowing it is not a kid then answer this "Why would a kid come into the school and have the office go on lock down?"
DeleteI liked your opinion and facts a lot too. :)
I don't think uniforms help with the lock down because a person whom is an intruder is most likely to be an adult and you'll know they're an intruder if they don't seem familiar.
DeleteRegrading your third point would dress code help? As a school, Beaumonde follows the idea of dress codes. From all of the 10 years i've been here, i've seen only a few people follow dress code. When we're in a lockdown, aren't all students going to be inside their classrooms and wouldnt the intruder be inside the hallway?
Delete3) The worst thing about a uniform policy is that it makes students look identical to other students, which means the students real personalities can't be revealed. If students are wearing the exact same clothes it would appear as they are one big army which all have the same opinions, but the fact is that, no two students have the exact same opinions. Without uniforms students are allowed to wear the clothes of their choice and in my opinion, the clothes that people wear reveal and express a lot about that person, which would not revealed if there is uniform. For example, Beaumonde Heights has a dress code policy which most students somewhat follow, by looking at students wearing the dress code, I can't really tell someone's personality, but when there are dress down days where we all can wear the clothes of our choice, I can tell that people that wear popular brands like fashion and people that wear simple clothes are usually the, " I don't care what I wear types." The uniform policy distinguishes this way of expression, which is why according to me it is the worst thing about uniforms.
ReplyDeletegood, but still has room for improvement, grammar mistakes and punctuation mistakes are visible
DeleteWhich grammar and punctuation are you talking about.
DeleteTheir personalities can be revealed on how they act. How would it appear as one big army? Also for your opinion how can you not tell someones personality? I mean like just see on how they act. Another thing is why would you want to see who is the "Wacky clothes wearing people" and the "I do not care what I wear" types of people. There is no point of seeing what kind of clothing a person wears when they could express themselves on how they act or how they are feeling. Needs improvement and punctuation mistakes needs to be fixed. Great effort on trying though. D=
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Delete''people that wear simple clothes are usually the, I don't care what I wear types."
DeleteWell Aaron I agree that their personalities can be revealed on how they act but their clothing reveals some things too. Also they look like one big army because they are all wearing the exact same clothes just like the military. If we know the groups of people, then we know who to hang out with, which uniforms restrict us to do.
DeleteWhat is absolutely the worst thing about wearing school uniforms? Be specific and find sources to support your position
ReplyDeleteI personally don't find anything wrong with uniforms. People say they're not able to express themselves because they go to a uniform school but some people almost wear the same thing everyday, they can also choose to express themselves during the weekends, after school or dress down days at school. Wearing uniform doesn't shut down wearing non-uniform clothing to school like I said before you can wear it during dress down days
Try at least answering the question instead of going against it please but nice effort! =D
DeleteI'm not going against the question I'm just saying that I personally believe that there is nothing wrong with uniform. The question asks whats wrong with uniforms and I don't find anything wrong with them.
Delete2. From my opinion, i don't like uniform because its something i will have to wear everyday and I like to wear bright colored clothes. If Beaumonde did become a uniform school I would go on strike and not wear uniform to school weather they like it or not and i would also get as many people to agree with me because EVERYBODY has a way of expressing themselves and they should all be given an equal chance.
ReplyDeleteNice facts and opinion
Delete3) Uniforms make some kids have lower grades. This is because they don’t concentrate on their work properly due to the cost of the uniforms and how their parents cannot afford it and have a low income. These kids are losing focus on learning since their family is paying too much money on uniforms. This doesn’t only affect the money but the child’s future. Parents who have low income should have free uniforms so they don’t have to worry for their child’s and their family’s future.
ReplyDeletereports and studies show increase of student grades because uniforms help unity which leads to students helping each other and also schools with uniforms get better attendance
DeleteGood opinion but you should maybe do a different fact to start with because most parents can already afford uniform.
Delete3. The absolute worst thing about wearing uniforms is that its BORING. Uniform is nothing but a boring outfit everybody has to wear. No one will like to be the same and uniform wont change anything. the popular kids will still be popular the smart people will still be smart it will just be harder to notice them because everybody is wearing the same thing. Uniform is boring. BORING i tell you.
ReplyDeletei like ur opinion but u should have more examples and more points
Delete1}If we wear uniform it help the school to be unique from other schools because if we all wear uniform it makes people feel good about the school..But if we don't wear uniforms and the school let the student's wear any dress some people will take this opportunity to wear any dress they want to wear..There people will saying that this school it's not a good school because of the dress some people wear..I heard that a student was suspended because he worn a shirt that and the shirt something was written on the shirt and that words are against girls...
ReplyDelete2}School uniforms help reduces rapes in the school.Because if a girl wear a dress that's not good they will be raped......
3}And also if student's do not wear uniforms they will be late every day at school.Because they will spend most of their time preparing for the dress he/she want's to wear but if we wear uniforms we will not be late because every uniform is easy to wear so i think we should wear uniforms......

ReplyDelete1) a) Less stress on parents:because in the morning parents and kids don't have to fight about what they are going to wear to school, but if they have uniforms all they have to do is take their uniforms out of their closet and go to school instead of looking through your closet for 20mins.
ReplyDeleteb) Teachers and students would have a stronger relationship: To be continued...
To be continued...............

ReplyDelete-there will be less bulling because if someone is bulling someone based on a there clothes then u might as well bully theme self because they are warring the same thing.......
There will not be as less bullying as you think because instead of making fun of how people look they will always find another way to make fun of people. Also bullies could easily either physically or cyber bully.
Delete3) The worst thing about uniforms is that students all have to wear the same thing which makes them feel less unique and it makes them feel like they are not important at all. Also in some schools with uniforms the teachers are aloud to wear anything they want. This makes the students feel like the teachers cant see what it feels like to wear uniforms. This is all from a students opinion but in a teachers opinion its the opposite.
ReplyDelete3. The worst thing about wearing uniforms is that it won’t help us get better grades. Teachers think that by students wearing uniforms they will work harder because uniforms might be a way to torture us but uniformed or not if students want to get better grades they will and if they don’t then they won’t. I agree with this because in the video it says “uniforms are NOT helping improve student’s grades (only 30%)", This shows that uniforms might help us in a way but not in every-way.
ReplyDeletequestion #1
ReplyDeletea) first benefit of wearing uniforms is that it cost you less money then regular clothes and you can save your
money for other needs. Such as running shoe for gym, say you have glass and you broke them then you can get another pair, and so on.
b) wearing uniform tells that we are all equal, no one is richer or poor then us.
c)also wearing uniform can be helpful for school security, what if some stranger comes from no where, at least we can tell that he/she is not from our school and so that we can inform the teacher or principal.
question #2
ReplyDeleteIf Beaumonde Height has suggested to wear uniform I don't mind wearing them, but it is a hard way to express myself. BUT maybe the school is changing the dress code for the school security or for an important reason. And plus there are benefits and not benefits of wearing a uniform. so if Beaumonde staff has suggested to have uniforms then i don't really mind.

ReplyDelete-there will be less bulling because if someone is bulling someone based on a there clothes then u might as well bully theme self because they are warring the same thing.
-it saves parents money because they don't constantly need to by there kids new clothes
- it keeps kids safe because u can identify if they are from your school or not if u go on a find trip and someone gets lost .
question #3
ReplyDeletethe absolutely worst thing about wearing a uniform is that you can't wear what you want:(
also there is no chances to express your self in any way. For example we had spirit week and that was mostly the only time i could express myself with what i wanted to wear. But then I will want to wear uniforms because some people will judge me the way I don't want to be judged so there are alot of Pros and Cons about wearing uniforms or not.
1: What do you think are the 3 most important benefits of wearing uniform. List them in order and justify each pick.
ReplyDelete1. Safety
2. Stops negative attention
3. Less stress
Safety is a huge thing to a school; schools don't want to be considered dangerous under any terms. Continuing with this, what if an intruder was to approach a school that had uniform? They would be easily spotted before the situation would get out of hand. Another safety concern is going on trips. In order to keep track of students in a uniform school they would have to look for students wearing their school uniforms.
Stops negative attention, this includes types of bullying and any other comments you might get.
By everyone being equal there's no one can bully you for what you are wearing without looking like a hypocrite.
Having dress codes and uniform could also keep you on track. What I mean by this is there would be a class clown in your class that would have clothing that would distract you from your class, they could just have a shirt which for example would be filled with cats, which would distract people.
Less stress. When you wake up whether it’s by alarm clocks or your parents you probably feel stressed out when you wake up. By this I mean: having to wake up in general as most people would rather sleep, having to get up walk over to the bathroom and get prepared, and then having to find clothes to wear. For most people I don't think it would be hard at all. But the same things don't apply to people who are concerned about appearance and people that revolve around this. What I meant by “Concerned about appearance” includes people who get bullied or want to look cool for friends. With uniforms people safe those extra moments so that they won't have wake up earlier nor have cloths already prepared when you wake up.

ReplyDeletei would do exactly what Julia is trying to do i would plan a protest against school uniforms to show all the teachers that we will not take the school uniform or what if i don't have the money to get the uniform then what i will just continue to ware my regular clothes
3. What is absolutely the worst thing about wearing school uniforms? Be specific and find sources to support your position
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing about wearing uniforms would probably be how people are affected by uniforms. By this I mean different types of people have different feelings on uniform.
Some people might be more interested in language and art and they could be more of the creative type. These types of people might really dislike uniforms because it doesn’t let them stand out as they would’ve liked.
Then there could be the people that aren’t as creative and just “go with the flow “
They see that their school is getting uniforms and just go along with it rather than questioning and disobeying. I guess you could call these students the average students too.
However as soon as students start to complain and try to get something started many people might be turned away by the possible consequences that might follow. Just like how in the book Branded Mr. Roberts would suspend students that are not in uniform. This is another bad thing since students might dislike uniforms but be “forced “to wear them in fear of the possible outcomes that might occur from opposing their school.
2: If Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school this September what would you do?
ReplyDeleteI think I would be fine if Beaumonde Heights became a uniform school. The reason I think this is since Beaumonde has a dress code it would not be as different as wearing uniform. I’ve followed this dress code since grade 1 up to my last year here which is grade 8, Both the kindergarten classes didn’t require you to wear uniform. So following this dress code for 8 years I would think uniforms wouldn’t bother me. Maybe my opinion would be different if I had come from a school that had had no dress code since I would be used to wearing whatever types of clothing that we could.
the worst part of wearing uniform is that everyone is wearing the same thing there is no individuality, i found a servery about if kids should wear uniform or not and there results were 35% of people say they should and 65% of people say they should not.

ReplyDelete1) One of the benefits of wearing a uniform is that if you are on a school trip it wouldn't be hard to identify the students from your school.
ReplyDelete2) Another benefit of wearing a uniform is that no one could get jealous over another classmates clothing choice. And jealousy often leads to bullying.
ReplyDelete3) The final benefit of wearing a uniform is that parents wouldn't have to spend so much money on clothes for school they would only have to buy a new uniform each year!
ReplyDelete2) If my school got uniforms I would be surprised because I would feel as if all my freedom we had would be taken away.
