Making Trailers:
What is a Movie Trailer?  It is a fast paced, attention grabbing video, that establishes the characters, problems, and underlying tensions of the story without revealing the ending.

In this case we will make the trailer for the Movie The Cheat

  • Focus on one main character
  • Draw and sketch possible scenes (2-5 second bursts)
  • Planning is essential / shooting video is easy
  • Experiment with iMovie and trailers
  • Groups of 4-6 (mix of guys and girls)

How to make Trailers video :

  1. Decide what character your trailer will focus on!
  2. Sketch and jot down 15 - 20 scenes to film.  Remember the scenes are fast and are only on screen for a few seconds.
  3. Pick the Trailer template
  4. Designate actors and consider props and filming locations
  5. Explore and practice with ipad and iMovie (film 3 clips of 4-5 seconds/edit in Movielooks, FilmicPro, iMovie)
iMovie Review & Journal Response:
Before beginning today lets begin by reviewing yesterday.  Answer these questions in your note book.
Is your group focused and productive? Why or why not?
How are you contributing to the task?
What are your goals for today in filming?
How do you predict today will go?
Today:
Start principle filming on for The Cheat
Stay focused and organized
Set up each shot with precision and refilm till its right
Review filmed scenes are delete unusable ones.
Consider someone document your Trailer production by taking behind the scenes photos!

The Cheat

The Cheat

Hey Team:

In the last chapter Sarah began considering her level of guilt.  This is what she said;

How did it work, guilt wise, I wondered.  Was Jake as guilty as me? Was I more or less guilty then Rob and Dan ?  How much less guilty was Katie for not using the answers?  Did that make her entirely innocent? Or did she at least get tiny black flecks on her soul for even considering cheating?

And how about if I hadn't got caught? Would that make me guiltier or less guilty?  Is there some kind of spiritual measuring stick or justice scales or something that assigns level of guilt?

How does it work GUILT wise? Answer Sarah's questions about each students level of guilt! (Sarah, Katie, Dan, Rob, Jake)

As well pick 2 other students to dialogue, debate and challenge about there opinions on level of guilt!

The Cheat

Hey Team

We are right in the middle of the moral dilemma and climax of the story The Cheat!  Sarah needs to make choices and we are curious what has happened to Rob!

The story has introduced many characters with a wide range of personalities.

Lets make a person connection to these characters by answering:

Which character/characters are you most LIKE?  Be specific in your response by providing details

Which character/characters are you must UNLIKE ? Be specific in your response by providing details

Next respond to two other students about their post.  Ask questions that are meaningful and engaging
